On Friday, October 24, 2025, Hawai‘i Island United Way hosted its inaugural Givers Gala at the Arc of Hilo — and what an incredible evening it was! This celebration wasn’t just about dinner and dancing; it was about honoring the heart of Hawai‘i Island’s nonprofit community and the people who make a difference every single day.
From the moment guests arrived, the energy was inspiring. We gathered to recognize the remarkable individuals and organizations who work tirelessly to uplift lives and strengthen our island ‘ohana. The evening featured an elegant gala dinner with local flavors, live entertainment, and heartfelt Stories of Impact that reminded us why giving matters.
One of the most memorable moments? The Ripple Effect Awards. These awards celebrated nonprofit leaders and changemakers whose dedication creates lasting positive change. Mayor Kimo Alameda helped present six of the nine awards, highlighting the power of collaboration in building a stronger Hawai‘i Island.
